Blender die erste…

Tja… Fabian besucht einen 3D-Workshop.

Und was mache ich? Auch mit Blender arbeiten. Ausgegraben habe ich ein Projekt, dass ich jetzt endlich mal vollenden konnte (hab ja jetzt einen Experten zum nachfragen 😉 )

Herausgekommen ist nach 5 Stunden rendern ind 640x512er Auflösung ein 1350 Frames langes Filmchen, dass eigentlich nur die Physikengine testen sollte, aber doch etwas mehr geworden ist.

Das ist nur eine erste Testversion, die Final wird dann auf der Renderfarm von BURP gerendert werden. Nur: bis dahin ist hier noch viel zu tun. Grade das Ende ist etwas rucklig, sehe ich grade.

Daher hätte ich nichts dagegen, wenn in den Kommentaren hier eventuelle Vorschläge landen würden.

Diamond mines suck.

Diamond mines in the last few weeks really suck for most people I know.
Even these ’special‘ locations usually returning 500+ only give me a 100-200 diamonds per day. Something is definitively wrong here.
Couldn’t anyone from the crew be a bit less sadistic and remove the limiter there?

Also, all this nuking around has made the server really slow as a lot of people try to occupy cities. This results in nice things like Gaalkacyo, Somalia which has been owned by 10 people. Some of them already removed their armies, but the cities latest attacks still shows the facts.
There should really something be done. 3 of my alliance mates were inside and happy, and then it showed remember87 as the new owner…. 🙁

Hallihallo!

Während ich noch am Design Document schreibe, hat sich eins ganz deutlich gezeigt: alleine schaffe ich das nicht. Dazu reichen meine Grafiker-Kenntnisse einfach nicht aus.

Daher poste ich hier einfach mal meine Wunschliste:
3D-Modelle (als .blend oder .3ds). Dargestellt werden sie mit ca 32*32 Pixel, also macht die Auflösung nicht so hoch.

  • Planet (ok, eher die Texturen. Eine Kugel krieg ich auch noch hin)
  • Raumstation: Normal, Angriff verbessert, Verteidigung verbessert, Beides verbessert, Homebase
  • Raumschiff (Symbol für „Flotte“, stellt dar: Kleine/Große Flotte)

Avatare (128*128) für

  • verschiedene Planeten (mit Name)
  • Stationen
  • Flotten: Klein, Groß

Wer mir helfen kann, bitte PM im Delphiforum, bei DelphiGL, ein Kommentar hier oder ICQ. Mail bitte nur, wenn der Rest nicht geht 😉

GEWar (finally) has ads

I have a news category, and I never use it… I should change this.

As a peg for this article the current event of ads on GEWar is a good idea. Shortly after they were put online, various people were in rage against them, but also a similar number of people supported it.

So what are my thoughts? In general, I hate ads. But what are the facts here? The server is incredibly slow, giving time outs all the time. If ads are to make Luke be able to afford a bigger (huge [giant {monster}]) server, then put them in. If they aren’t these wiggling, noisy flash things, they don’t really disturb you from playing. Only if…

Also, I got a load of PMs regarding Redux2. You know, the armies page didn’t work with the new ads in it. This shows how famous and common the script is, but also raises one question: if so many features are missed in the ’normal‘ GEWar, can’t some of them be implemented? This would highly reduce server load. I guess a lot of traffic on the server comes from Redux (so it is not like Redux, but a ’server killer‘)

Ok, that’s all from me today. I could continue, like write about AO’s raise or the new star ranking things, but they have already been well discussed in the forums.
